Plainview Little League Softball Clinics

Skills Clinic: As in past years, we are delighted to have Christine Moran back to run our Winter Softball Skills Clinic for girls in 1st â?? 4th grade. This clinic will focus on development of core softball techniques, done through a series of fun, engaging and proven routines that Christine will run with the girls. Christine played softball for Hofstra University, where she was the starting second baseman and received All-Conference, All-Region honors, as well as All American East accolades. She studied Physical Education and currently teaches elementary Physical Education and has been the Varsity Softball Coach for Wantagh HS the past 15 years.

Catchers Clinic: Recognizing how critical the Catcher position is at the Minors and Majors divisions, we will be running a clinic specifically for girls in 3rd-6th grade who are interested in developing their ability at this important position. The clinic will be run by Darian Caputo, who played collegiate softball at Cabrini University. Since graduating, Darian is pursuing her Master's degree in Sports Performance and Psychology at Capella University and coaches Varsity Softball at Sanford H. Calhoun High School. Darian played catcher and middle infield for several recreational and travel softball programs across Long Island and has spent time training several of our Travel softball teams. Darian places emphasis on fostering a positive environment for young athletes to develop their skills and will show our girls how this important position can be fun and engaging.

Pitching Clinic: For girls interested in either learning how to pitch or simply having an opportunity to work on their skills over the winter with us, we will be offering a Pitching Clinic for girls in 2nd â?? 5th grade. This will be a beginnerâ??s level clinic and will focus on basic pitching technique, with a trainer teaching and guiding the girls in their development. All participants in our Pitching Clinic must be accompanied by a parent or older sibling able to â??catchâ?? for them during the clinic.
